Zirconia dental implants are a new and exciting development in implant dentistry. Preliminary studies suggest zirconia implants induce less inflammation in the peri-implant tissues and promote a favorable epithelial attachment to the implant. They have a more natural appearance that may enhance esthetics, and contain no metal, making them ideal for patients who have metal sensitivities or prefer a metal-free option.
This one-day course will provide an introduction to zirconia dental implants, with hands-on laboratory exercises on simulated anatomical models to familiarize the participant with the surgical and prosthetic principles.
A live implant surgery will be performed during the course. This unique opportunity will teach the participants the nuances of the procedure, and allow them to interact live with the surgical team.
- Placement of one-piece zirconia implants in plastic models
- Abutment height selection exercise
- Impression techniques
- Participants will become familiar with the science of zirconia implants
- Participants will understand the indications and contraindications for use of zirconia implants, as well as patient selection
- Attendees will participate in a surgical and restorative hands-on workshop

HIGH PRIMARY STABILITY
The thread design and cylindrical-conical implant shape achieve high primary stability. The reservoir for bone grafs at the tip of the implant simplifies implant insertion.
The special geometry with the four tips enables high precision and fast and easy insertion and alignment of the abutment. The slightly beveled contact surface of the implant platform is designed to facilitate centering of the prosthetic components.
REDUCED DIAMETER VICARBO SCREW
One screw for two diameters. The XT Vicarbo Screw head diameter is a reduced 2.8mm. Length is 7.4mm and Tightening torque of 25Ncm.
ZERADRILL™ Biocompatible reusable drills with carbon coating. Precision designed for exacting geometry of the unique tapered shape.
